Just curious.. When is it necessary to have Chemotherapy with CD? Is having a Chemotherapy treatment necessary with CD? Do you lose your hair? I have heard of FOLFOX but dont know the side effects.. Just trying to further educate myself before my diagnosis.. Thanks!

The only time I have heard of people having chemotherapy with CD was when they had Cancer. Never heard it used for anything else.

There are some chemotherapy drugs used in the treatment of crohn's disease - like methotrexate. However, in crohn's disease, just like in Rheumatoid Arthritis, chemotherapy drugs are used in very low doses, to suppress immune system, to prevent flare ups. Definitely not in the high doses used for chemotherapy, so the side effects are much reduced.

I hope this is what you were looking for.
