Welcome Chica! We have a few members here who follow the SCD diet. I don't personally, as I have found success for "me" with the low residue diet. Hopefully one of those members will be along soon. Good luck!

Hi chicaalbita! Welcome!

You didn't have SCD in your thread title, so it's possible not many of the SCDers here will see this. You might want to make a second post with your specific SCD questions. Also, you can search this forum (forum search above) and/or read threads below in my signature for discussions on the SCD.

As you may already know, there are great online resources for the SCD which include countless recipes and sites where you can purchase everything from yogurt makers to almond flour.

Lastly, there is a yahoo group for the SCD....I think it's BTVC-SCD. They are EXPERTS there; many have been following the diet for decades! It might help you to join that group, too. We have a couple of resident experts here, too, though! smilewinkgrin

Best wishes to you!!!

Glad to hear you're doing well Chica!

For new SCDers, stevia is not technically legal. It may work fine for you, but it may not, so be aware :-)

Welcome!  It is awesome that you have dived in with diet and seem very dedicated!  My doctor said diet made no difference at all, but as you can see by many here, their diet makes a big difference.  I was diagnosed in November 09, and started with the SCD diet shortly after.  I found my constipation cleared up from once every 3 days to once a day.  My energy has slowly started to come up, though I believe some of that is due to IV treatments I am getting every 2 weeks.  I went cold turkey on all baked goods, coffee (yikes!  I love my coffee!), sweets, etc.  I find it easy now to say no to those things, though I do miss them.  In all, I find the SCD to be a very healthy diet for me, as it is mostly meats, veggies, fruits, and some baked nut-flour products.  In terms of traveling....I have found Lara Bars to be a lifesaver!  The ingredients are all-natural, and as long as you can digest the nuts, you should be fine.  We recently took a road trip that had an 8-hour car ride.  I made some food, but mostly survived the drive with Lara Bars.  The Peanut Butter cookie Bar is the best!

I could go on, but will keep it short for now.  Keep us posted, and keep asking questions!

Hi.
I am unable to follow the SCD because I have a nut allergy. So I tend to follow the Maker's Diet, which is similar to SCD.
It allows wheat and other grains, but they should be properly prepared, with sourdough or sprouted or soaked, so that they are very easy to digest.
Sourdough bread is easy to find, as are sourdough pitas. So if you are desperate for pizza, you could always make your own with a sourdough pita or sourdough crust and use organic mozzarella and tom. sauce.

Some ppl here do a combination of the SCD and Maker's Diet.

Best wishes!
