So heres the deal.... I started flaring about 2 days ago (not a bad flare, your standard stomach pain, blood, fatigue, etc) Anyways, I have only gone once in about 3 days and I'm leaving for a 3-4 day vacation tomorrow. I feel bloated and want this "crap" out of me! Laxative at this point would be a bad idea; or could anyone confirm it being a good idea? Would you suggest an enema possibly? I just feel like an enema wouldn't really do me any good... The only thing that scares me about the laxative is that there is blood in my stool right now and I know a laxative isn't exactly the easiest thing on the stomach.

Any ideas that could be conjured before tomorrow morning would be of much assistance!!!!!! I'm confused as I've never had the constipation problem before from what I can recall.

I suffer with constipation myself, and use stool softners nightly in order to keep things softer and easier to pass. Not so sure a laxative is a good thing at this point for you. Miralax is a gentler laxative that many crohnies use, but it can take a few days to work too. Good luck!

Thanks Nanners... I might just do a fleet enema. I got a laxative just in case; but I'm scared that I might not be able to stop going tomorrow on the ride if I take one... At least once an enema gets out of you, the "D" is done normally.

For quick results, suppositories have twice worked well for me - talking about a 20-45 minute wait before going. I'd recommend a suppository if you decide against an enema.

Thanks everyone! I went with the fleet enema and its helping to clear me out a bit already..... Stomach is pretty queasy and I have some pain... I held off on the pill-form of laxative as I think it would have just been too much for my stomach. Some of them don't work for 12 hours anyways; and that would have been a disaster lol.
