Mucus is extremely common in UC, but some folks with Crohn's get it as well.

Medically speaking, I don't know its significance. In 11 years of diarrhoea, I don't once recall having mucus.

My guess would be that the inflammation / ulceration is lower down in your bowel (rectum / anus maybe) and, because of the irritation, you're having trouble holding on for longer, and having to expel matter more often.

The human intestines produce something like nine litres of mucus a day. In healthy people, most of the mucus is reabsorbed. We are less able to reabsorb when we're inflamed or ulcerated, so that's probably why you're seeing some come out when you use the loo.

IBSers are also prone to excessive mucous...it's fairly common with IBD as well, it's often a sign of inflammation in regards to having an IBD, with IBSers it's usually to do with frequent bowel activity (irritation) since IBS doens't involve inflammation...you can google mucous and IBD to see what explantions are out there.

bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
