OH MY!! I'm glad you're at the hospital and being taken care of. (((BIG HUGS))) to you. I hope they get things figured out and get you well soon.

(Oh, and you should ask if they can give you something to relax...I did that when I was in the ER with blood clots and it helped a lot. Some ER doctors will do it, some won't, but it doesn't hurt to ask!)

Well, if you have a heart condition, the hospital is certainly the safest place to be...

Would be surprised if your cardiologist said something like that if it wasn't true. (Be a bit like a GI saying Crohn's could be cured.) Still, it sounds frightening. Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I know what it's like to be in the hospital and not know what's going on. (I just got finished with a lengthy stay in the hospital myself.). I know it's hard, but try to occupy your mind win something else. The only thing that helped me were mind numbing chic movies and bad magazines that I normally don't read.

Try to stay strong, but know it's ok to cry and scream too. You will get through this. And everything will be ok. It may take some time, but everything will be ok.

My step daughter had that.  Her heart would race with a rate right up there, just like yours.  She had what is called a heart ablation....and it is fine now!  She had the choice of meds or the procedure.  she chose the procedure.  It was all very scary but actually very safe and successful!! Let us know how you do and maybe this is all you need to!!
Diagnosed with CD 2006.  Refused to take meds until recently started Colazal.
Currently on Prednisone 40mg. Tapering down, now on 20mg.
Colazal 3xday, Antioxidant strips
 Off of the Prednisone!!

Hi Debilitated :)

Sorry to hear you have SVT... My best friend has it and she is so afraid of doing the procedure to fix it that she just lives with it. Anyhoo... it's some nerve that they sever and it cures you of having it anymore. I remember the ER doctor telling her one time that it is a simple procedure and that she would be cured... I don't know why she's such a chicken, but if I were her, I'd do it in a heartbeat.... Good luck and I hope you feel better soon :)

Hi there...I have this myself - in 2 different forms - lucky me! :) Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome and Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. I practically grew up in the hospital until they offered me the ablation procedure for the WPW. It wasn't bad at all, and over before you know it. It's a really fast procedure, only about 45 mins-1 hour. I actually splept through the last 30 mins of it, cause it makes you tired, LOL.

It's your choice if they offer it, but coming from someone who had it done for the WPW, but now can't have it done for the IST (mine is not ablatable) don't be afraid to choose it if you feel it is best for you.
I know it is REALLY scary to be in the hospital for heart trouble (I was there last summer for 10 days for the IST) but rest assured, you are in the right place. They know what they are doing and you will be okay.
My thoughts are with you. Hang in there, it'll be okay. Hugs!
