ok so i just had my 2nd Remicade infusion Monday.  After the 1st Remicade infusion the bleeding seemed to stop very quickly for a few days, but my bowel movements became VERY loose.  Then the bleeding came back...now 3 days after the 2nd infusion the bleeding is still there with almost every bm and my stomach has been hurting pretty bad.  I know i have to give the Remicade time but...has anyone else felt WORSE after starting Remicade?  and how long did it take until you strted to see improvement after you started the infusions???  thanks!!!!!

You are right about having to give the medicine time to work in your body. Remicade is one that you really have to have a couple loading doses before it reaches full effect. Some people see immediate results on their first one but the disease is not being cured, it is only being suppressed. I can't even count the amount of Remicade infusions that I have had but after each one I get sick for a few days until my body adjusts. Some infusions are worse that others but I always get sick. How often are your infusions and what dose? Let your doctor know what is going on because they may have to adjust the dose for you. I was never able to do the every 8 weeks and went to every 4 weeks almost right off the start. I also had to go to the 10 dose before I was able to see longterm improvement.

When I was on it; my first dose had me feeling pretty good. I recall not being "too sick" when I first started remicade as the other medicines had me somewhat under control. Remicade was my miracle drug. I was just a little tired after my IV-drip, but that's the only effect it ever had on me other than putting me into remission for 2 years.
