steroids and excercise

so.. I've been put on steroids, 60mg of Medrol for now, but I expect it to be 32mg when they let me out of the hospital
as usual, they open my apetite and I expect to gain some weigth (6 years ago I got 20 kilos in a month :D) and thats a good thing because I'm really skinny (62 kg on 196 cm)
BUT I dont want it all to go to my gut... so, I plan on doing some excercise but do not know If thats ok considering the high dosage???

I've been released from the hospital a couple of weeks ago I'm currently on 25mg of prednisone and although I feel so tired, my doctor said exercise is very good for Crohns, so I try to walk 30 minutes everyday with my dog, and that seems to help, not only for my strength, but also it helps the bowels and gas move!  The doctor told me that walking, swimming and biking are the best options.  Hope I helped.

Exercise will be very beneficial to you. Just take is slow and listen to your body. My doc approved walking and pilates for me.
Dx with crohns February 25, 2010. But suspect I had it since 2002 with very mild symptoms.
4 lialda a day.
3 entocort daily for the next few months
hyosamine for daytime
Bentyl for evening
Ferrous Sulfate(iron supplement)

I personally found that the bikes machines that you lean back with your feet forward are the best ones for me with my arthritis. I tried the elipticals but they just kill my knees. I also do a series of abdominal exercises at home every night that have actually helped with my bowels by strengthening those core muscles that help the intestines. Just remember to do like everyone is saying and start at a snails pace and work up to a regular workout. Drink lots of water because with this disease you are usually dehydrated anyways.
