I was just wondering. Last year when I first showed symptoms, I was diagnosed via colonoscopy about a month later.
Biopsies showed active crohn's in the lower half of my large colon, and I was all clear in the upper half and ileum.
I was just wondering. Why wouldn't my doctor want to see other parts of my small intestine? What if I have inflammation going on over there and don't even know about it?

A number of factors would come into play. What type of symptoms you are having? What type of treatment/medication are you on? How are you feeling? Are you planning on going off your meds because you got an all clear on a colonoscopy?

If you were only having symptoms of lower distress but were put on some form of medication that would treat inflammation in all areas and are feeling better now, that would all be good. However, not if you were planning on going off the medication based on testing done on a small area of the digestive track.

However, after saying all that, and admitting that I hate all types of testing, I would probably want some sort of testing done so that I would know exactly the extent of my disease.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

I agree. Crohn's is a disease of the entire digestive tract. My docs always insisted upon seeing all of it.
