I was on the "Crohns Boy" website. He says he's pretty  much cured of crohns. Still eats mostly SCD, takes vitamins, digestive enzymes and colloidal silver. He says colloidal silver made a huge difference! Has anyone else had success with this?

i've used it, but like most stuff, i cant say if it helped cos i did not notice anything. a few of my alternative docs recommended it to me and say they have success with it. it is anti-bacterial. imho cant hurt trying. this brand was recommended to me and is what i used:

The only people I know who have had "success" with colloidal silver are the charlatans who make money by selling it.

As you can see there has been some discussion of this, but I think common sense would dictate that that putting colloidal silver in your body is not maybe the best path to take.  People have really advocated hard for this on here at one point in time.

Last year he said it was strict SCD, now it's colloidal silver, can't wait for what's next...

Personally, I don't trust quackwatch...

Colloidal silver was used as an antibiotic prior to the 1940s. That said, I wouldn't us it without researching it extensively first, and possibly even consulting with an alternative health professional--a naturopath.

If you're looking for a more "natural" antibiotic for Crohn's, Jini Patel Thompson, on her website, advocates the use of oil of oregano for IBD. Perhaps you might want to look into it?

i'd only use colloidal silver in small doses and under the supervision of a doc. remember, it is a heavy metal.

the docs i know that use it do so for cancer and other things, not crohn's specifically, and they told me this stuff works for what they use it for. it has been around for a long time, but since it is not a pill it takes the back burner, like other homeopathic methods. so i wouldnt discount it potentially working for some things, like cancer or some kind of infection, but as for something that has been shown to be genetic and auto-immune gives it a new wrinkle. with this disease we all know first hand how one thing that works great for some one may not work at all for another, and that sucks.

I have been using it but my initial intention to use it was to fight this numbness I had in my extremities. I got that from taking Humira for Crohn's Disease. I have been taking it for 1 1/2 months and have noticed less numbness and also less diahrrea! I have also been taking Kefir too since that is superior to yogurt. I think that the Silver if taken in small amounts is benefiting me! One can take it for a few days and then have a few days off so that they are not over taxing their system.
