Hey all~

My husband is now on an every 3 week Remicaide cycle because he always starts to feel sick by 3 weeks following his last infusion (was previously on every 4 week cycle).  Is anyone else on this regimen?  Just curious as to what others are doing... Thanks!

Wow, I have never heard of every 3 weeks other than when someone is in the loading stages and beginning Remicade treatments. I have been receiving mine every 4 weeks for years and there are only 2 of us that the hospital has ever seen receive it that frequent. What dose is he on? Is he on 10 yet? I know that they increased my dosage to 10 and it really made a difference a few years back.

He is on the standard 5mg/kg/dose every 3 weeks.  His GI physician said it was fine...

My GI won't let me go any earlier than 6 weeks! I'm jealous! At week 5, I'm in pain bad. Maybe its a good thing for ur husband. My dr says its powerful stuff that you shouldn't take to often. Trust me I beg him! Good luck!

I may be going to every 3-4 weeks. I am currently every 6 weeks but start getting sick almost 3 before my next treatment. Is he feeling better @ every 3 weeks?

Towards the end of my time with Remicade, we were doing it every 2 weeks. My GI felt it was safe that close together.

does your plan have a yearly max out of pocket? for example my plan pays 90% but my max yearly ou of pocket is $2,500...so after my 1st two Remicade treatments i probably won't have to pay anything for the rest of the year for them.
