I have had docs taper me this way before. Well, not the 10 every other day. I usually go down to 5 then stop. But I've cut those little pills into halves and fourths when I was really having a hard time getting off of it. I do tend to do better with a slower taper. I recently went 40-35-30-25, but the week at 25 didn't go well, so this week we bumped it up to 30 again. So far, I think it could be better, so maybe we will have to bump it up again. How are your symptoms? I always feel like my docs are in a hurry to taper, but it never goes well if I am having even mild symptoms not yet under control. Good luck! I can't wait to get off the pred.

10 mg every other day seems weird. I've done the exact same taper except 5mg/day the final 10 days.

I don't know...I can't taper that fast. Alot depends on how long you've been on it too. I was on pred one time for a year...and had to tapper really really slow. I did the 5mg down ever week. My Dr. was pretty cool about my smptoms and letting me control it. When I was finally off it completley....a few weeks later I get pretty sevre (reactive arthritus) that lasts a couple of months. NOT FUN! but, Fish Oil helps ALOT!
Good Luck
