 Hello all,

with recent studies seemingly confirming that the cause of multiple sclerosis (although many doctors still refuse to believe it) is chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI) and that a relatively simple surgery cures most pacients, the need to find an ethiology (cause) for Crohn´s becomes more urgent. In my humble opinion, the theory of "autoimmunity" is ridiculous. maybe there is more than one type of IBD, each one with a different cause. THus, in some, MAP is the causative agent. In others,  maybe, other bacteria or blastocystis is the causative agent. in others, perhaps. some flaw in the blood flow or in the integrity of the intestinal wall is the culprit.  current "treatments" are a joke, they are like taking aspirin or tylenol for a viral or bacterial infection and have very serious side effects. so, what do you think?

Personally, I believe in the hygeine hypothesis. I think the altered microbiota in IBD patients is a consequence of the disease, not the cause. Of course, this is just my opinion given all that I've read.
