Hello, like the subject says, I am new to this forum. I'm 26 years old, and I was diagnosed November of 2006. I had suffered from symptoms since i was about 15 years old and was always given the run around and even told I was faking. I have one uncle on my fathers side that has crohns and all of the immediate family on my mothers side has it. I have had one resection surgery in March of 2007. I have a great Surgeon but I'm indifferent about my GI. My crohns has never really fully gone into remission and I am starting to have lots of problems again. From November '06 - March '07 I spent about thirteen weeks in the hospital trying to get everything under control. I had a PICC line and was put on TPN for 5 weeks to heal tears in my stomach in intestines. I am also currently on 1000 mg 3XD of Pentasa. It was worked wonderfully for the first 3 1/2 years and it now is just making my symptoms tollerable. I'm constantly nauseated and am always getting horrible colds and the flu from my horrible immune system. They tried Asacol, & that 6MP stuff and they did nothing at all. They try to keep me off of Prednisone because every time i go on it i become dependent on it and lands me in the hospital. I am severly anemic and need to take iron supplements. I have lots of joint pain and horrible anxiety. I have also had stents put in my ureters to prevent my intestines from crushing them and almost had kidney failure from it going undiagnosed for so long. I'll try to help out as much as possible and I'll probably be posting a couple questions of my own along the way. Thanks!
