Very informative article about a Crohns patient who had failed other treatments and is now apparently cured after undergoing bone marrow stem cell transplant.

I try and not get my hopes up until extensive clinical trials have been conducted. This does sound promising, though.

about six months ago I was really not doing well, as I am pretty unresponsive to any drug they give me, or they would work for like six months then stop working.

I was refered to a doc that was doing this type of procedure. Not only did it sound super scary (the risk of death was too high for me), it also leaves you infertile because of the chemo. As a 30 year old woman, I was just not ready to give up the option of hving children in the future.
