Did anyone see the news today on msn.com?
There is an article about a judgement against the makers of acutane for causing IBD. Just thought those of you out there who might have taken it might want to know. It's in the area of Popular Searches on msn.com
Kind of makes you wonder what other drugs could be implicated.

d 1/09 with colitis sigmoid colon with some diverticular disease as well
IBS, asthma/allergies,  high BP, fibromyalgia, GERD, restless legs and periodic limb movement in sleep, low thyroid, the list keeps growing..........................
claritin, singulair, diovan, progesterone, VSL#3 probiotic, Vit. D, colazal, plaquenil back on cymbalta for pain, nexium for reflux (trying again)
Blood test positive for Crohn's via prometheus ibd serology panel ASCA
Positive ANA rheumatologist suspects mixed connective tissue disease 4/2010
Collitis doing OK for now, it's fatigue and joint pain that are plagueing me right now!!!

Never took the stuff but I do wonder about other things I have been exposed too.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

The guy took Acutane for NINE YEARS - I find that hard amazing. He was diagnosed in 2000 which means he was taking the drug since 1991 - long before, as far as I know, any major side affects had been attributed to Acutane. Nonetheless, the drug is the off the market now.

I also hope that my son, who took the drug for about a year back in 2003ish? and so far has no symptoms of anything is home free as far as the statute of limitations with crohns/accutane!

The ONLY drug I ever took w/ANY regularity at was sulfa drugs for 6 months prior to kindergarden age. My Crohn's symptoms didn't begin until I was 33. And azulfadine make me more sick and miserable than the Crohn's symptoms so I sure didn't take it for long!
My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.
