I just saw this:
Somebody said...
A pill containing activated charcoal is being tested to treat Crohn’s disease in a clinical trial...

The doctor induced sepsis in rats, noticed increased TNF, which was being absorbed by the liver and dumped into the gut, presumably causing IBD. Ever hear anything more about this?

I tried the charcoal caps awhile back for gas as I had heard they were good for that. But they only gave me bad cramps and more constipation. So if this is gonna be a new treatment, it won't be one I will be using. JMHO

I don't remember getting the side effects Nanners had, but I too tried it for gas and it did nothing. I'll probably sit this one out and stick with what is working for me.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!
