Hi - I know side effects are different from everyone, but I thought I'd ask... I've been on Humira for 4 weeks (haven't noticed a bit of change; my fistula seems even more flared up than usual).  It seems like I'm losing more hair after a shower, and I'm having frequent headaches (I never used to get them otherwise).  Is it probably the Humira??  Thanks.......Jennifer

And I should add that I feel so tired too, and I'm more irritable than usual (or is that just b/c I'm tired and have a headache and my fistula hurts?) Ugh, I"m feeling really down about the whole deal :(

Talk to your dr, but headache and fatigue are common side effects. I never had the headaches but I did have fatigue for a few days after the shot for the first few months and then it got better.

Hi Jennifer, I'm actually very interested in this question also. I seem to have headaches on a daily basis (just did my 4 loading doses 10 days ago and my next 2 in 5 days) and sometimes feel like I have a stiff neck when I get the headaches. The fatigue is getting to me also. If I lay down, even for a few minutes, I am out like a light.

I also have a fistula that for whatever reason seems to be hurting more. It never really bothered me before and would only feel sore if I had alot of D and was wiping alot. Now I FEEL it...all the time, even inside, if that makes sense. Like something is going on in there, I just haven't figured out what. It is sore and draining which it never did before. I have a Dr appt in 2 weeks so I will bring it up to him then, but am curious if anyone else has noticed this.

On the up side, it seems to be helping my flare. Haven't had to take Immodium in over a week.

Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.

Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

Hi Jennifer,
I just started taking Humira a few months ago for my Crohn's - and just finally finished weaning off Prednisone a couple weeks ago.  My hair recently started falling out (again, it happened once before a few years ago after the first time I got really sick) - and I have also been really fatigued lately and have had a few headaches, which I never get - I had thought it was the prednisone so am interested in hearing that someone else has the same stuff going on with them as well.  I feel tired most of the time and am kind of losing my zip.

I hope it's not the Humira.  I can't lose any more hair!  Ugh.  In the grand scheme of things I am trying to keep this in perspective, but I can't help but think all this medicine I take will eventually do more harm than good. :(

hair loss is not a known side effect of humira (I checked the clinical pharmacology database for you). however, i don't doubt that it might be contributing. remicade is giving me muscle twitches right now, that's not reported either. i'm discontinuing infliximab because of this
