I've been seeing a urologist lately for blood and protein in my urine, and I had a cystoscopy about two weeks ago. He found a lot of patchy inflammation all over the place, so he did a biopsy, which came out normal (thank goodness). I asked him what would cause inflammation like that, and he said it was most likely Crohn's-related.

I've never really heard of Crohn's inflammation spreading to the bladder. I'd ask a GI, but I'm in the midst of switching right now. Granted, IBD isn't a urologist's area of expertise, but is this something that's normal?
Diagnosed with Crohn's in 2008 at the age of 22. Also dealing with gastroparesis & GERD.
Currently on: Remicade, Imuran, Pentasa, Tramadol, Welchol, Phenergan, Ambien, Reglan, Prilosec, Hyoscyamine

I had a fistula into my bladder. Just had repaired by surgery. If you had that you would know it. You'd be passing air and debris in your urine. Other then that not a clue.
Diagnosed Crohns 02. Just had a resection April 20th 2010. Two sections removed had a fistula into the bladder. Also have a temp ostomy. GI said I could stop the 6mp, but going back on remicade.

I have heard that intersticial cystitis is frelatively common. I don't think I spelled that right. I have been having some strange bladder activity myself lately but I don't know the cause. Not bad enough yet to see the doctor. Try searching IC on the forum

See, the urologist kept talking about intersticial cystitis during the cystocopy, but when it came down to it, he wouldn't give it a label. Just said that it was inflammation probably caused by Crohn's.

I believe it is directly related to crohnes, because crohnes can cause inflammation anywhere really, even in the joints. Sometimes I think about what inflammation and disease really are.  Inflammation can manifest anywhere in the body.  I get bladder problems too and go often when "flaring", but I believe its because the inflammation from the colon is dominating. I mean its such a small, tight area there.  Thats just kind of how I see it.  Don't know if its true.
