I'll be posting my progress here. So far I am still on Humira, planning to stop it in about a month. Normally I start getting symptoms if I wait over a week from my regularly scheduled dose, so I'll know very quickly if helminthic therapy is working. One good thing though that I already feel - total lack of seasonal allergies. So I am hoping that Crohn's will react in a similar fashion. Keeping my fingers crossed.

So are you on Humira AND hookworms Helminthic Therapy? I'm seriously considering trying out this different kind of therapy and would love to pick your brain about it.

Since reading all of the 80 odd post on here about the hook worms i have started doing alot of research into it. It looks pretty positive you get the occasional person who bags it out with out any scientific facts to back up there theorys but all the rest looks great. i belive ive only got the hemira left before im out of drug options to help treat me but its nice to know there is still hope for me yet.
Please keep updating i cant wait to hear how it goes smilewinkgrin

Anybody know if hookworms would help with fitsutlizing crohns? I tend to get fistulas/abscesses at sporadic times. Wonder if this type of therapy would help that as well.

Hi, I'm seriously considering Helminthic Therapy for my 14 year old crohns daughter. I have communicated with the company "Autoimmune Therapies". There is also another company called Ovamed. Which company did you use? Did you use only the hookworm or did you add the whipworms too? Did you have to go to Canada to get the shipment? We already live in Canada so it will make it a bit easier for us. When did you inoculate yourself and did you get the rash? Are you also posting on the Yahoo Helminthic Therapy site? Sorry for all the questions, but I truly am praying that this is the answer we are looking for. I hope to get my daughter inoculated in the summer. Thanks, Diana

please keep us updated on your progress with the worms
21 year old male, Diagnosed with Crohn's in Feb 2010.
Previous Meds: Prednisone, Pentasa. Meds did not work apparently and inflammation became more extensive so I had to start on the current meds.

Current Meds: Remicade (done 1 infusion) and Azathioprine 125 mg. Have been symptom free for 2 months even before the Remicade and Azathioprine.

Trying to eat natural foods, avoiding red meat, dairy, spicy, fried foods and refined sugar. Interested in trying to figure out if there is a way to get off medicines and achieve/maintain remission with diet.

Which company did you use? Autoimmune therapies
Did you use only the hookworm or did you add the whipworms too? hookworm for now but planning to add whipworm as well
Did you have to go to Canada to get the shipment? No, as I wasn't in the US when I got it
When did you inoculate yourself and did you get the rash? Almost 1.5 months ago. Yup, got the rash but no other symptoms of the hookworm.
Are you also posting on the Yahoo Helminthic Therapy site? yes, I am. I've been following it for a few years now.
Anybody know if hookworms would help with fitsutlizing crohns? I don't know but I don't see why it wouldn't help. Probably would take a lot longer for them to heal though, I wouldn't be surprised if it took a year or more but given the scientific evidence, it should work.

Update: seasonal allergies are gone completely, 2 food allergies have disappeared. Stopped taking Humira last week and hoping for the best. I'll be posting updates on the yahoo group, so if you need to reach me, ask questions there.
