Hello all, I have just joined this site and want to introduce myself.

I am a 47yr old female and was diagnosed w/Crohn's Disease in 1999, and likely to have actually had it for a lot longer.  I went to my doctor with abdominal pain and ended up being admitted and 3 weeks, 2 surgeries later I was told what was wrong.

After all of that, I believe I have been fairly lucky.  I have developed a fistula, which is definitely not fun.  But today, I have been surfing for support because....I have lost quite a bit of weight lately, been really down, not wanting to eat or do anything. I have absolutely no appetite and when I try to make myself eat, I feel like I could vomit.

Going to the doctor today, see what he will do next.

So, the dr. wants to run tests. Going in for an Ultrasound of the abdomen and and EGD on Tues. Also having lab work done to check pancreas and liver. I have never had an EGD before and am a little concerned as I have a really bad gag reflex. I was told I would be sedated just like for a colonoscopy.....but still it concerns me as I remember my first colonoscopy and I dont want to remember and EGD, ugh. Thanks for the Hugs and support, it really does help already.

Hey Lindyl,

For the upper scope don't worry, you are sedated and don't even know its going on. So big breath:) Very easy test to do. Do keep us posted on what the results show. I am wondering if you have developed a stricture and thats why you are feeling so nauseous.

Hugs
