I was told I have vertigo about 5 months ago with episodes maybe once twice a month, but are noticed they can be triggered by lying on by back and looking straight up for a long period of time is this vertigo?  I did this yesterday after working on my truck for 2 hours and noticed this happening when I layed there to long, but woke up to the lightheadedness and numbness above the back of my neck on my head.  Is this triggering a episode?  Please help don't like this feeling.  Should I request  x-rays or mri from my doctor?

I had something like that about 5 years ago. In my case, it turned out that I was Hyperthyroid. Might want to ask to have your thyroid checked, its a simple blood test. Good luck!
