I have been flaring now since about April, and its been fairly bad, I go to the toilet roughly 10-20 times a day. I have been eating the same amount that I normally do, but I have noticed over the past week that the amount of times I go has decreased, but my abdominal pain has increased. I'm not in an agonising amount of pain (but I do know I have a very high pain threshold), but it's pain that wasn't there before. I'm worried about the possibility of a partial blockage. The pain is high, not lower abdominal but not as high as my liver and I feel bloated and sore. I also have the sensation of having something there that needs to come out but it won't come. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm. My first instinct would be to suggest calling your doctor, but it's getting close to the weekend, so maybe that's not a possibility for you. Is there a medical hotline you could call for advice? We have one here.

Might it help to bump yourself down to liquids for a few days, just to decrease any pressure on the bowel and give the blockage (if it is a blockage) a chance to unstick itself?

Thanks for the advice, I may try that and see how it goes. Amazingly I've never had to deal with one before. I actually just ate something cause my blood sugar was too low and now my stomach really hurts. I actually am being treated through a Hospital because I'm on a clinical trial, so if it gets really bad I can always go to emergency.

Claudine you might want to ask your doctor about a possible bacterial overgrowth. I am going thru that right now and I feel much the same way as you are describing. There is a breath test you can do to test for it, but my doctor never bothers with the test and just goes off my symptoms. The treatment is antibiotics for about 10 days. The first time I got it they gave me a 10 day course of Cipro and that knocked it right out of me. The second time they tried the Cipro again, but that time it made me sick, so we switched to Xifaxan. I just started it again lastnight. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are feeling. Hugs!

Thanks Nanners, I'll keep that in mind when I speak to him. The pain is actually getting worse but I'm trying not to worry too much as it's just after midnight here and I'm a single Mum with 3 young Daughters so it's a bit hard to go to the ER!
