I had an ultrasound done a couple weeks ago... (for other reasons separate from Crohn's). But, when the report was written, the doctor noted "a prominent bowel loop within the pelvis rounding the ovary with thickening of the bowel wall." So... I've got a call in to my GI, but I wanted to see if any of you might be able to help decipher this for me. I know the thickening is a factor of scar tissue and/or inflammation. But, what about the "loop" part?
Oh, they are also now concerned I might have a fistula between the small intestine and the sigmoid part of the colon. We'll know for sure on my scope, in July.
Oddly, I'm not upset about this stuff. But, of course, I do wonder what it means and if I should be concerned.
1 fistula, crohn's colitis, limited to large intestine
