Hi everyone.  I have been on methotrexate for about 4 months.  From the first injection i've hated it.  I ran fevers, had the chills, neasea, extreme fatigue, and list goes on.  Had a colonoscopy a week ago and doc found that I had a stricture where I was reconnected after surgery in 2008.  It's almost completely closed.  He couldn't even get the scope through.  Last week I also went into manhattan to have a mr enterography gi series done at mt. sinai hospital which sucked.  Haven't gotten the results yet.  In the meantime i'm injecting twice a week of the methotrexate b/c i cannot handle the full dose in one shot.  I hate this drug, it makes me feel sick and I can't stand it.  I want to stop taking it but the doctor has says that despite the stricture it looks the meds are helping.  Only thing is my rectum is in active inflammation. I don't know what to do.  I want to stop taking the drug but it's my last resort.  I've been on everything else.  There is nothing else besides tysabri and I DO NOT want to be on that.  Anyone have a similiar situation with the methotrexate?  I could really use some advice.  Thank you.  :)

I was on Methotrexate! It made me sick and the hair on arm fell off.  It worked for me for about 2 months and then stopped.

I LOVED being on mtx and would give anything to be able to take it again.  It was the only thing that helped enough with the arthritis, but it raised my liver enzymes and I had to discontinue it.  I didn't have any other side effects from it.  I miss it.  =(

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)

I take Mtx orally since January and don't know if its doing anything as I can't get off the steriods. In the first few weeks I did feel really tired, had chills and felt generally unwell the next day (come to think of it I still do, maybe I'v come to accept the side effects !) Hope you get some answers soon.
