So this morning I am sick. Gut pain, distended abdomen....and I threw up a few times (by my own finger) and out came food I ate 13 hours ago. That cant be normal. Should that food have already moved out of my stomach?

And if it is an obstruction you may get your wishlist fufilled! But you know, I smiled a bit at "just to see what it's all about and so I can say I had one." Ridiculous as it is (wishing for surgery is surely a dumb idea), I know what you mean.

But yeah, it does actually sound like it could be an obstruction. The vomited food wouldn't necessarily have still been in your stomach but could have come from further down. If the way was blocked, there would be nowhere else for the semi-digested food to go except back the way it came.

Yup, maybe it couldn't leave the tummy because the rest of the way down was backed up at an obstruction.

By the way, if you wait until your vomit tastes like feces - YOU'VE WAITED TOO LONG!!!!

General - long time since you were last here! Sorry that you are feeling poorly. Did you call or go to your doctor? How are you feeling now?

Thats a very funny handle General! The same thing hapens to me as well and is usually due to a partial blockage, and in fact the vomitting seems to start the process of the bowel clearing and the problem ending. Strangely, at other times out comes what my body can't digest, that's it, nothing else. So how does my body know to leave mushrooms in the stomach? Or celery, or pimentos? I sure don't have a clue. Does the stomach have eyes?
