I am just wondering if anyone has had a sulfasalazine rash before and what it looked like. My daughter (2yrs) has been on ssz for about 5-6 weeks, she has been known to get rashes from time to time before she was on ssz. Anywya afew days ago she got a bit of a rash around her mouth, it has spread up her cheeks and her bum has a rash, the rash on her face isn't really spotty just red and inflamed, but the rash on her bum is spotty and she has also got some spots behind her knees and her vagina (only a handful of spots on these places), also the rash is a bit yellow looking as well. I am waiting for her GI to call about something else, but I am thinking I should stop the sulfa. Its a bit disappointing and I dont want to stop the drug if the rash isn't from that, as she hasn't had much luck on pentasa.

I am allergic to sulfa meds, and if I take them I break out in an itchy rash ALL over my body. Hope doc gets her feeling better. Hugs!

I can't take any of these meds for the same reason I broke out in a rash and it would end up in hives. It wouldnt do it all the time and i kept trying to tell the dr i was going to what was going on and finally I went in the office one day for something and it did it when i was there and the nurse asked me about the rash on my chest and i looked down and told her thats the rash i kept trying to explain to you.Once off those meds it hasn't happened anymore.
