Hello, I am 32 years old and a teacher. I was diagnosed with CD in 2005. I have been on almost every medication but the injectables. I am currently on Pentasa, Entocort, fish oil and now Wellbutrin because of the anxiety associated with CD. I will be starting probiotics soon, as I have heard they help. I was in remission for about a year, but now I am having a minor flare up. I had a major flare up in 2006 and was hospitalized for a few weeks, no surgery though. I am trying to diet and I work out almost every day, but cannot seem to lose more than 1 or 2 lbs a week. I need to lose 50 and it should be going faster than this, but I was told that some of the meds will cause weight gain. Around the time I got sick the first time, I lost over 100 lbs. Then, my Dr. put me on Pred and I gained 50 within 3 months. I then went into remission after a while. Now, I am out of remission and can't get this darn weight off! I would like to be thin for once in my life, but this disease and all the meds involved are not making it any easier! So, that's me in a nutshell. smhair

Hey eileyeseyes and welcome to Healingwell. Sorry you have to be here though. We have many Crohnies just like yourself who are battling weight, especially the dreaded Pred weight gain. As for the probiotics you should try to find one that has at least 10 billion CFU's in it. I have found alot of relief with the probiotics, I hope you do too. Hugs~

Thank you, the one I ordered has 3 different kinds of probiotics and I will check the levels you suggested. I am happy to find a community of people who have the same problems as I do. It is really easy to get into the "why me?" mentality.
