Do any of you take your medicines when you are doing your prep for the colonoscopy? I can't remember if you are supposed to take medications the day before or not.  All I remember is I have to be on clear liquids.  I just hate calling and asking questions! Is 1 day off steroids enough to cause withdrawal?

I have always been allowed to take my meds with only a sip of water. Good luck!

I'm guessing/assuming your prep starts later in the day, ie, afternoon.

Take your morning meds with water. If you're taking all the pred in the morning, take it all. If you're spacing it out through the day, just take the morning part and skip the rest.

You can skip the later-in-the-day Pentasa dose with no problems.

Good luck with the prep! I have my scope in a few weeks...not looking forward to the prep.

You actually can take all your meds, just earlier in the day so your body has time to absorb them. If you take anything too close to the prep...whoosh....it'll fly through without being absorbed.

I actually really like the dr doing my scope, he lets you drink water the morning of the scope...it usually seems like the best cup of water I've ever had!
