It's been awhile since Ive posted but I wanted to update my status. I've been dealing with a severe flair for the last 2 years until last April. I had gotten down to 113lbs. I was so weak and sick I really thought my ticket was about to get punched. I was admitted to my hospital at the end of March and had surgery the first week of April. My surgeon removed 18 inches of small bowel. It's now June18 and I weigh 170lbs. I work out at the gym 5 days a week, walking 2 to 3 miles several times a week, climbing up to 50 flights of stairs, and riding my bike up to 22 miles. I had literally given up hope and today I look and feel better than I have in years. For those of you still fighting this DD, hang in there. I thank God for this gift of good health again and will never take it for granted. I know my Crohn's could return someday but for now I'm doing wonderful. I wish the same for everyone still fighting to get well.
Crohns 30 years. Ileostomy for 15 years. Symptom free for 14 years until 10 months ago. Was on Remicade but just recently switched to Methotrexate, low dose prednisone, and iron. Feeling wonderful.

Tony that is awesome news, so glad to hear you are feeling so much better. I know you were really have a tough time lasttime you posted. What are you taking to keep this remission in check? Remember you really need those maintenence meds in order to stay in this good condition. Hugs!

That's brilliant. I know what you mean when you said that you thought your ticket was about to be punched, I was close to that point a couple of years ago too. Now I'm also doing good and thankful every day that I have the energy to get out of bed and enjoy my 3-year old.

Thank you all for your kind and inspirational responses. I thank God, my awesome gastro, and my gifted surgeon. I truly pray that everyone at Healingwell, no matter what your disease is, enjoys remission and good health again someday.
