I'm fed up with my GI doc.  Not so much him, but his office staff.  It's a long story, but trust me when I say they are incompetant and disorganized and have botched up some stuff thru this whole experience thus far.  THe last straw has been waiting on test results from the first week of May.  All I want to know is if the SBFT and blood tests were normal, because at my last appointment he said if they were, we were going to set up a pill camera test.  I have left several messages and have not heard back.  My next appointment for f/u( supposedly a f/u including pill camera results) is in two weeks!  Now it looks like I won't even get that test done plus results before my next appointment, which in my mind there would be no reason to keep the appointment.  Anyway...blah blah...sorry to vent.  I was wondering if anyone here is in the Phoenix, AZ area and has a GI doc they like or recommend.  I hate the whole idea of starting over, and honestly really like the actual doctor at this clinic, but I just don't think I can stomach dealing with his staff anymore.  I'm beyond frustrated, and miserable from the symptoms that brought me there in the first place, still with no answers, and an incomplete work up.

I see Dr. Elizabeth Cruz ( http://drlizcruz.com/index.html ). She's really nice, and listens to what I have to say (a GI first for me). There's a list of all the insurance she accepts at http://www.digestivehca.com/index.html .

I really feel bad saying who he is because I don't want to give him a bad name.  It's more his staff that I am disappointed in.  I still think he is a good doc.  Would any of you leave a good doc if the staff was as described above?  He works out of Banner Estrella Med Ctr.

I'm having an endoscope in a couple weeks at Banner Estrella Surgery Center :-).

I recently left a primary care doctor because of poor office staff. The doctor wasn't fabulous or anything, but I wouldn't have left if the staff was decent. They dropped the ball continually, like failing to send very important blood work and my EKG to my surgeon. Here I am waiting to go into the ER for my bowel resection, and they're still desperately trying to get the info from my doc's lackluster staff (they never did get around to sending it). I'm lucky they went ahead a did the surgery anyway.

i think staff is a very important component of your care. sucks you may have to leave a doc that you like due to others in his practice...i'd say that you should talk to the doc but i doubt that would yield any returns...

Hi spookyhurst,

Could you please tell me if Dr. Cruz is LDN-friendly?

Thanks!

She won't prescribe it, unfortunately. She looked into the studies I gave her, and consulted with a GI at the mayo clinic. He told her it was intriguing, but that he wouldn't prescribe it until more studies are done. She followed his advice :-(.
