Normally I get ulcers in my mouth, but for the past month or so, I have had various areas along my jaw line that feel a little swollen and tender. Every week it's a new area that is sore and tender. And I also get the odd ulcer in some of the areas.

Anyone had swelling/inflammation without a lot of ulcers in the mouth before?

crohns can affect any part of your digestive system. I know when i flare up i get sores in my mouth & at the corners of my mouth.

You can get Crohn's in your mouth....I get ulcers in my mouth every so often when I have a flare. Or sometimes for no real reason...
Diagnosed 2002.

75mg Imuran, 750mg Balsalazide 3x day, Tapering Pred.

Maybe flaring...maybe not?

My mouth gets really bad. I was told by ENT Dr. that it was crohns. It's usually an indication that things are gonna
get worse, just like this last week for me!

Yes, you are talking about me!  I had the worst recent flare and had no idea that it was Crohn's related. My esophogeus (sp?) had migrating ulcers (I could feel the scab slough off as they tried to heal  - made me gag!) that then erupted in my mouth when I went of prednisone ... ulcers everywhere except my tonsil area so I knew it wasn't strep ... and there was a weird cobblstone patter on the roof of my mouth. My doc said that it was without a doubt crohn's.  I get vuvla sores at the same time. Of course, the only difinitive way is to take a biopsy and see if they are granulomas ... but it makes sense. Back on prednisone.

I just found out that I have c-diff which is causing this recent flare ...

My doc prescribed Magic Mouthwash, an RX, which I"m going to try next time.

FYI - I've also has ulcers on my scalp and in my nose!

Hang in there ... my challenge is when my throat/mouth/esophogeus is raw, what to suck on as sugar free stuff gives me the runs .. and I think I'm rotting my teeth out! Any ideas?

I too get a sore mouth at times. I've had ulcers that came on rather suddenly and out of nowhere in the roof of my mouth back towards my throat that have healed but have left permanent scars/ bumps. The dentist didn't know what they were, nor was he concerned because they healed.

I have gotten them on my scalp but only when I was on Humira. It got so bad at one point I had over a dozen and I couldn't even comb my hair it hurt so bad! Since stopping the Humira I haven't had any sores on my scalp.
Diagnosed with Crohn's in 1998, father has UC we were diagnosed at the same age.

Currently on 15 mg Prednisone, 4g Sulfasalzine, VSL#3, B complex, Calcium, Magnesium, D3 and Passion Flower. Previously on Remicade, just stopped Humira after 9 months, wasn't working.

No surgeries so far.

I'm used to getting ulcers, it is the tender areas that don't have an ulcer that concerns me.
But it is starting to go away finally!

I suppose you can get just inflammation and no ulcers in the mouth?
