I don't know if this helps, but Humira makes me too wired to sleep sometimes, especially if I inject in the late afternoon or evening.

It's never happened to me. Were u pre-medicated with benadryl? Then did u sleep during the infusion and throw off your sleep schedual?

yea I took 2 bennie's but didn't sleep during infusion. now it is the morning and I noticed I didn't have a very good bm. for if I don't pretty good in am I get these really bad gas pains that put me in bed. does rem have a steriod init. you guys I hope you all understand. I ask more questions, to you guys than my gi, he seems always in a hurry, when I'm he'll listen, so I ask you guys because I get my answers. because the reason I ask about steriods, I had really bad nite sweats last night and i took enough sleepers to knock ivy out in austrailia. pred did the same to me, after my flare eased up I weened myself off pred, can't take that hyper bullcrap. so rem was a little like that. we will see. no pain so far this am. Ivy, grandpato you guys send me your bill, do you except hmo

Did they also premedicate you with prednisone for the Remicade infusion? My husband gets 40 mgs of solumedrol with each infusion, and usually he's a little wired for a couple of days and needs benedryl to get some rest at night. Of course, the remicade also gives him flu like symptoms, and he needs to take tylenol for a couple of days after an infusion to recover.

It happens to me sometimes and I get a little cold sweat for a day with it but not every time. They may have premedicated you with cortisteroids before the infusion and you are feeling the side effects. Remember that it takes a little while to get the full effect of remicade because it needs to build up in your system. The first couple day will probably be a little rough but it will get better. I just had my infusion last week and it hit me pretty hard on the second day but has now given me some good relief. Hang in there and maybe see if next time if they can premedicate you with your benedryl in the iv instead of orally. It will give you some much needed sleep and rest while you are being infused and for me seems to work better.

I dont have any pre meds but am usually tired for a couple of days, I sleep ok, but maybe everyone is different.

I dont think it is very kind or fair for someone to say it is all in your head. We are all affected by drugs in different ways.

I also agree with littlemissmuffet. Just because you don't sit on your tuffet doesn't mean she doesn't.

a tuffet is a short stool for sitting on. Funny thing is if I actually sat on one I suspect my knees wouldnt let me get up again. Ha ha

Yes, they also give me 40 mgs of solumedrol into the IV each time I get Remicade, which is a steroid.  That definitely makes it hard to sleep; it is not your imagination!  I also have to take pred 2 days before and after, because once I got hives from the Remicade.

I had my first infusion yesterday and felt fine until suddenly in the early evening I felt exhausted and could harly keep my eyes open.  Slept well but still felt drained of energy most of today. Hopefully it will wear off.  I had no Benadryl or steriods in the IV, maybe thats why I slept and no other reaction.  Next one in 2 weeks.  Not sure when I will be tapered off the Pred though (can't wait).
