I'm moving in a month from New Orleans to Atlanta. My great gastro doctor in New Orleans doesn't have any recommendations for a good GI doctor in Atlanta.

Anybody know a good one in the Atlanta area?

Check out Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates. Several good doctors there and they see patients in several locations.

I've heard good things about Dr Douglas Wolf and I believe he is connected w/AGA.
My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.

Dr. Wolf is awesome, he specializes in complicated Crohn's cases. Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates is a very large practice, largest in the SE. Dr. Wolf is at the St. Joseph's office. Saint Joseph's Hospital. http://www.stjosephsatlanta.org/

Dr. Robin Rutherford at the Emory Clinic is also fabulous. I've been seeing her for years. She takes a lot of time with her patients and is very thorough! Emory University Hospital. http://www.emoryhealthcare.org/

Dr. Michael Galambos is also wonderful, his office is at Piedmont Hospital. http://www.piedmonthospital.org/

These are three very good docs that see a lot of Crohn's patients in three different areas of town. Hope this helps!

I tried to get an appt. with Dr. Rutherford but she doesn't have openings until October, and I need one before my September infusion. Does anyone know about other doctors at the Emory Clinic?

Dr. Wolf has had some FDA violations in his research studies (just google him), which is one of the reasons why I didn't consider him. Also, remember Atlanta is huge and has awful traffic, so you don't want someone who's too far.

Thank you SO much, y'all. We'll be living in Midtown, right next to Piedmont Park, so I'll probably check out both Dr. Rutherford and Dr. Galambos. I'd already heard about Dr. Wolf, since he's one of the two big Crohn's research doctors in the Atlanta area--but I'm a little nervous about him, because (a) my Crohn's case isn't very complicated, and (b) I've read that he doesn't have the best bedside manner. But I may check him out, too. As you know, a bad GI doctor can ruin your mood and your life, so I'm really grateful for your recommendations. Thanks!

I like most all the internist at the 1525 Emory Clinic. I see Dr. Shabnam Shah. She's a rock star!
