Well I'm alittle worried about getting Remicade on Friday...I've been so sick for years that I'm very hopeful for a change in my quality of life. My question is, when u take remicade does it make u get every cold and sickness out there? I work in the public and am worried about catching everything out there... What do u do to help this?

Thanks for any help or advice...

Medications: Pentasa ,Imodium, Flax/Fish& Borage Oil, B-12 injections once a month...Taken Humira, Asacol, Prednizone, and several others...

I actually caught fewer viruses while on Remicade for 2.5 years. Pre-Remicade it seemed like I caught every cold out there. Of course, while on Remicade, I was much more cautious. I made sure to wash my hands well or use hand sanitizer if I had touched lots of public stuff! Some people do get more upper respiratory events while on Remicade but others like me had no issues.

I hope Remicade does the trick for you. My guts went into remission while on Remicade and remain so to this day. Hope you are as fortunate!

Well... in theory your imune system will be "modulated" and you can be more vulnerable. But, usually, although your leucocytes are in a lower level, it doesn't became too low.
In my case, I get a flu in the same rate as before. But yeast infections (skin)... became more commom.
Male, 35 (lovely family of wife and two daughters)
