Arghhhh.

I've been flared for going on 4 months now. Things are sloooooooooowly settling down, but last night/today I have been suffering from some absolutely violent gas. The kind that makes you horribly nauseated and you can feel it lurching around in there.

Any tips to help with it? I tried Gas-X, but it didn't do a whole lot last night....took some this morning and after lunch and it seems to be settling down a bit now, but holy cow last night was hideous. This happens to me every now and then when I'm flared up, and I never know what to do when it's that bad.

Are you taking any kind of probiotics? I was having horrible gas pains and that was the long term fix. I had to try a few different brands but eventually I found one that worked for me. If you do a search you will find a lot of previous threads on the topic to get some idea on the various ones we all have tried. But the basics are buy a good quality one, give it a few weeks and if it doesn't help move on to a new one.

Are you keeping track of what you've been eating? After my resection, I used to have oatmeal every morning. I also had horrible gas. I stopped the oatmeal and voilla - less gas! I hope you fine a solution soon.

It never seems to tie to anything I eat in particular.....it likes to show up when I've had multiple bad days in a row. It's like my gut gets so disgruntled it doesn't want to act right.

I do take a probiotic. Maybe I should try another one? :(

I get horrible gas pains that radiate around to my back, and once I get it, it seems to take several days to subside. I have tried Gaviscon, Maalox, Gas X etc. but none of them help. Sometimes chamomile tea helps a tiny bit. I find that I need to eat very little and only bland foods in small amounts until it goes away. I hate when it happens. I hope you feel better soon!

Cipro, probiotics, and Miralax Gas tablets helped my gas a lot. I ended up having a bacterial overgrowth. Nothing but miralax helps with instant relief, though.
