Question for my CD Friends...
I have been on Humira for over a year, I give myself a shot everyother week.  My doctor office had me miss a dose because I was sick with the flu.  I was suppose to go right back on the shot after I was feeling better and didnt.  Has anyone been off Humira for a couple mths and then started again... was everything fine?  Thanks in advance for your input...

Definitely something you should ask your doctor about. Or, call the Humira hotline and ask one of the nurses. Unfortunately, I have never missed a dose for that long, so I can't give you any advice from personal experience. However, I can imagine the possibility of requiring another loading dose, or an increased risk for allergic response so it's probably best to check with a doctor or Humira nurse just to be safe. That being said, a couple months isn't very long, so I imagine it's totally fine - but I would still check with a doctor just to be safe.

I was off the Humira for about 6 weeks.  I had surgery at the end of May to repair a surgical hernia and the surgeon had said that I needed to stop the medicine 2 weeks before my surgery and then wait a week after to go back on.  With the way the dates fell - it ended up being about 5 to 6 weeks.  When I did go back - I just started back up with one shot every other week and I haven't had any problems.
