*sigh* I just posted a long tlc list, but it disappeared somewhere in cyberspace, so here's another try from memory redface

* work out when gp appointment is today
* prep for gp appointment
* shower and dress :-)
* go to gp appointment
* prepare a shopping list
* do shopping while I'm out
* exercise
* drink water
* eat vegetables
* make bed
* spirituality stuff

Try to:

* do some more dishes
* do some more tidying
* work out where I'm up to with laundry
* unpack Monday's bag
* sort out / pick up delivery rolleyes
* post letters
* deal with one piece of paperwork
* contact one of the zillions of people I fell out of contact with while I was feeling crook last month shakehead
* give legs some tlc

We can all fall off our chairs in amazement if I do some ironing too wink

Today was thrown awry by a bad storm that flooded half the house in about 1cm of water, so I've had to put other things (like dishes) on hold in order to clean up the really messy and dangerous stuff.

Done:

* work out when gp appointment is today
* prep for gp appointment
* go to gp appointment (leaving buckets everywhere in the house to catch drips, as I couldn't postpone the appointment)
* shower and dress
* prepare a shopping list
* exercise
* drink water
* make bed
* picked up delivery
* made one paperworkish phone call

Things I want to try to achieve tonight:

* wash face
* feed cats and put them to bed
* have another go mopping the floor
* arrange the wet furniture in such a way that I won't fall over it if I have to get up during the night.
* check the garage again, just to make sure it isn't flooding too
* bonus if I do any dishes
* fold and put away any dry clothes on the clothes horse
* put on a small load of washing, to take advantage of the heater being on

LOL, it didn't really come *through* the house; it blew through the roof, into the walls, and, from there onto the floor. It was quite dramatic at its worst.

Apparently I wasn't the only one - almost anyone who had a gp appointment when I did rang the receptionist begging to postpone so they could focus on the water flooding their houses, only to be told that gp was overbooked and we wouldn't be able to get another appointment for weeks if we cancelled... so guess what a lot of people were discussing in the waiting room?

In a weird way, I feel less bothered and resentful about the cleanup knowing that I'm not the only one who has to do it tonight. And at least it's clean rain water and is reasonably easy to mop dry - had it been a river or something, it would have been muddy, and *that* would have been hard to clean up. I'm just thinking of it as a deep (literally! :-) ) cleaning for the back rooms.

You sound busy there! I'd love to hear more about your decorating: what colours are you choosing? And have you found curtain material yet?

* furniture cleared into a safe area
* clothes horse cleared of dry clothes

Please excuse frequent posts: I'm tired and need the motivation tonight.

* fed cats
* done a load of washing and draped on clothes horse
* done a huge pile of dishes - not all of them, but a large percentage
* dropped a quick email to two friends I haven't contacted to for a few weeks

Ooh, I just realised that if I wash face & clean teeth, I'll legitimately be able to call it a night. Hooray!

Wow. I'm sorry about the flood! Mopping up is boring and hard work, so if some of your other TLCs slipped because of it that is very understandable.

I didn't do all my TLCs from yesterday. Didn't assemble the table, but as we don't need it immediately, that's not a big issue really. I also didn't start my new book; I spent so long on Google Street View, it was almost bedtime before I got off it - and I still didn't finish :-/

TLCs for today:

- get a shower
- finish planning route on Google Street View
- later on, drive to the hospital (if I get lost after all this, I will be distraught -_-)
- start new book, even if I only have enough time to read a few pages
- play around with my new camera some more :D (I'll show you folks a couple of sample pics if you like <_<)

NCOT - of course we want sample pics!! I bought a brand new camera to go to a horse trial with end of april. Spent 90 quid on it, got a great deal but its currently sat gathering dust. Maybe i should go for walks and start using the thing more! I am trying to take lots of pictures of our dog, bless him. He's 16 and most definatly on his last legs.

Ivy - I'm thinking a purple/black look. I'm trying to go for a glam gothic look. I'm not an actual goth but i think i have the heart of one! I'm still working out what colours i want excatly, but since my window is 293cms and most blinds ect only go up to 180cms i'm having problems!! Plus my mum, who trained as an artist, is doing the best she can to take over. I know its her house but i have to look at the walls!!!

Ivy -- what an unpleasant surprise with the flood. You still got a lot done.
Chocaholic -- I like that color scheme.
NCOT-- did you start a book? I just finished an okay one. I'll take a rec if you like the next one.

Today has started great. Both kids slept in after being up in the night. I dragged them to Starbucks in the morning and then to my toddler's last music class. I've made headway on thank you notes too.

TLC
- shower -- done
- music class -- done
- figure out dinner
- order diapers with coupon that expires today
- write more thank yous

Bonus
- get to library
Mom to a healthy Pentasa baby and pregnant with #2. 5+ years remission, woo hoo!

It's a bit silly, isn't it, this custom that demands that you write all those thank-you notes at what easily has to be one of the busiest times in your life... :-)

Chocholic, what sort of purple is it going to be? A bright, dark purple, or a gentler lighter one? Will you be getting a new bedspread (sorry, counterpane :-) ) etc to match, or do you already have those?

What sort of art does your mother do?

Please allow me to recommend librarything.com for those of you wanting book recs. It recommends books for you, based on what you've read and enjoyed, and every recommendation it has given me has been fabulous.
