My GI just put me on this to see if it helps control the multiple bms a day.  He said it's a bile salt binder since I'm missing my TI are due to 2 resections.  Anyone else on this?  If you are what are your results?  I have scopes scheduled for Monday YUK, hopefully that will tell us if there is any inflamation present.  I really don't want to have to up my meds because the next step would be Humira.  I've failed on Remicade, 6mp drops my white blood count so I can't take that and I didn't have any luck with Asacol.  Which has left me with sulfasalazine for now which I don't think is working any more.  Sigh -- and I thought I might get another long term remission.

I am! I am! Haha, go figure...we go to the same office.

I'm on it for the same reason.  I notice that I have a really sour stomach in the mornings, about 20 mins after taking my Welchol I feel better.  As for helping with D...it doesn't for me.

I take 3 pills in the morning, and 3 pills with my dinner.

I took it for a while a couple of years ago. Taking one a day helped with the D. If I took more than 1 it caused me to get constipated.

Thanks, I just felt so rushed yesterday in GI's office that I really didn't get to ask everything I wanted to. I'll give it a shot but if it doesn't help the D then I don't really see any reason to stay on it. Oh joy another 6 pills a day...

Melissa -- you cracked me up! Thanks, I really needed a laugh this morning.

But that was my argument with him yesterday. My TI was removed in '82 and I only had D through all those years when I was flaring. My surgery in Jan. was to remove a 5 inch stricture at my anastamosis site of the first resection. I've been having D issues since. Just frustrated at having to take another drug if it's not going to resolve the issue.
