I started humira 9 days ago and now my addomen appears more and more distended by the day. I do have some pain, but not anymore than I had on Remicade. The distension is becoming slightly more uncomfortable but I don't have any other symptoms. I already had Remicade in my system so I dont know if Im just overloaded with TNF blockers since I have Remicade and the 4 loading doses of Humira in me. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I tried to get in to see my GI but of course she is booked for the next month.

I've been on humira for 2 years and never had that problem. I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that you might have a little remicade in your system. I'm not sure what it could be, but if you really need to see your GI don't take no for an answer. I would call and insist that you be seen. Tell them you're having trouble and that you think it could be complications from the humira. At the very least they'll have the doc's assistant talk to you. They can't just leave you hanging - it's a liability to them. You just have to get past the desk dragons.
