So the big day is nearing and I am getting a little anxious now. They are going to remove my stricture (about 3 inches of the terminal ilium) and my appendix. I THINK they may be taking out my cecum as well...see how informed I am? lol. No one mentioned the colon until my pre-surgery appointment Wed so who knows. I'm so excited that I don't have to do a bowel prep!!! That made my day lol. I'm getting nervous though and I don't know what I'm going to do in the hospital for a week =\ The hospital is an hour away from where I live so I won't have many visitors. What have you guys done to stay entertained while in the hospital?

I brought my laptop and headphones to keep me entertained when there was nothing worth while on TV. I played some games, listened to music, watched a movie or two, posted on internet forums. Sleep helps when you're bored, since you probably won't get a great night's sleep.

MissCris, my hopes and prayers that all goes well and your back feeling better real soon.

I think the hardest part is the wait before your actual surgery date. Once I was at the hospital I felt much better because everyone seemed so confident and upbeat. Good luck and keep us updated.

Hey we'll be prep buddies on Sunday! I have scopes scheduled on Monday. Good luck with your surgery and keep a positvie attitude. They probably won't know exactly how much they will remove until they get in there. My first resection was like that.
