I've been on it for over 12 years in combination with other meds. It is one of the things that has kept me out of the hospital for so long. As long as you keep up on your blood work it can be a good medication. I have only had problems when the doctors tried to raise my dose too high.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

It never did anything for me other than raise my liver enzymes, so we stopped it after a year or two.  I hope it works for you!

I'm on 50mg and at first had my blood work done every week now I have it done every other month. Not sure what it is supposed to really do but whatever it is guess it's helping. No side effects at all. Maybe there are side effects but I don't notice as the Prednisone as given me a million side effects. Best of luck to you with the 6MP berrytom!

I'm on 50mg now. I have been as high as 100mg but at that point my liver levels went wonky. For a long time I was on 75mg, but eventually the Prometheus test showed that I really wasn't getting the full benefit at that level and my liver levels were still high so we dropped it back down to 50.

In the beginning I was tested pretty often, but I don't remember how much. Now I go once every 3 months. You should have blood sent off to Prometheus every so often too. They are the only lab that can check to see if you are at the therapeutic level and also what your toxic level is. The regular blood work can tell a lot, but the Prometheus lab work is a lot more specific. Some insurance co. won't pay for it, or will put up a stink so you might have to fight, but I think it is worth it. If I hadn't had mine sent out, I might have continued taking a higher dose than needed.

6MP doesn't work for every one, but it is one of the "smaller" guns in the arsenal, so I'm glad that its working for me. I have the big guns in reserve for when I really need them.

I got pancreatitis from 6MP about 10 days after I started it the second time. They have never been able to give me an explanation for why I developed it the 2nd time but not the 1st. However, I wasn't on it very long either time. Also, I had problems with severe nausea but it seems to go away the longer you are on it. Hope you escape any side effects it could potentially have.

I had to stop taking it after about 2 weeks because of nausea, vomiting, and a high fever.

I'm on 125 mg/day and I don't have any side effects. It's never gotten me at a therapeutic level though.

I was on it for 3 weeks....lost 15lbs as i could not tolorate the nausa and lack of hunger.  Dr took me off it.  My blood work was fine but still did not set well with me,  He tried it twice on me just to make sure.

I don't have really full lush eye lashes any more, but I'm older now (45) and I know that as you age you lose some eye lashes. There are some mascaras out now that claim to help "grow" eye lashes. Not the same as the Rx stuff but it might help some.

I am on it and I haven't noticed any bad side effects. I am on 75mg, I started at 50mg but my GI raised the dose when I was having mild symptoms a couple weeks ago. I just had the test to see if I am at a theraputic level but haven't received the results yet. Hopefully I will get some info this week. I think it's definitely worth a try.
