I feel like I can never win and that something is always going on with me! So on Friday I had wicked bad D for hours on end. Eventually it stopped and was just mucus and blood. But wasn't in pain or anything. Then yesterday I started to get  a bad pain above my belly button and radiated towards my left and ride side. The pain has just continued to get worse and it's really annoying. My lower back seems to cramp up randomly when my sides are hurting bad. Then the back pain goes away but the other pain stays. I have not had a BM since Friday and I cannot remember the last time that I have not had a BM. So any idea what this could be? Bowel Obstruction or?

One other thing... my stomach isn't hard or distended. Does it have to be if you have a bowel obstruction? Not sure what it could be. It's very tender to the touch but not hard or anything.

When I had an obstruction my stomach swelled up and I looked about 6 months pregnant, had no bm, no sounds in stomach and pain was situated in middle of stomach around belly button. Also felt very sick. Hope you are feeling better now.

I'm feeling the same now as I did when I wrote this post. Nothing has changed at all. My stomach still isn't hard or anything just very tender and hurts. It almost feels like it did the day I had my appendix out. So it's proably not a bowel obstruction if when you had one you looked 6months pregnant. Maybe it's my gallblader? IDK, Guess I should just call the doctor to be safe. Since this has never happened to me before.

When I have obstructions the pain comes in waves, like labor pains and I feel sick to my stomach. That is when I go to the hospital or GI office. If I am having pain from my strictures I still get the pain but it's not as intense and I can do a liquid diet for a couple days and it will clear up. If you are in doubt please call your doc's office. Better safe than sorry. Good luck and keep us updated.

Elizabeth, My pain comes and goes in waves and then will get strong pains and then it will settle down. I just don't want to call or go to the ER and them just say to me you have gas or are constipated. I haven't gone since Friday so maybe I am just constipated but haven't been constipated in the longest time and it didn't feel like this. When you had this problem was your stomach swelled up like missnuts was? I just don't want to look like an idiot when I call. My GI see's patients on Mondays only and then does research Tues-Fri so I don't want to have him paged since he's busy. Wish they had a nurses line there. Then if I cal my PCP theyl'll tell me to call my GI.

Have you eaten anything since Friday?
Perhaps try clear fluids only and see if you have any tummy gurgles. I find that reassures me that there is movement of some sort, it is just taking a while to move through my system, especially if have had Diarrhoea as bad as you.
I would be worried about this pain continuing though, especially after having passed blood.
Good luck I hope it settles down for you, otherwise please ring your doctor

I ate on Friday and then Saturday I went to my friends house for a get together and they ordered pizza. I had a slice of pizza and my stomach started killing me after eating the pizza. I only drank liquids after that and then yesterday I didn't eat at all I had Gatorade. I had more Gatorade at about 4am and I could actually feel it going inside. Then after that no noises or anything. So I'm confused as what it could be. It's not even 10am yet so if it's still like this tonight then maybe I'll just go to the ER it's a lot easier then just going to the doctors office since the ER has everything right there. Or will they just tell me to drink clear liquids? In that case I can do that on my own and not pay the $250 co pay and all the bills to come after.
