The cajuns have a word for people that are not all that smart, its couyon , pronounced Coo youn .It's been two week and still no appointment for my wife to be treated in Houston. I am a bit frantic even though her doc tells us there is time. Yesterday while having an anxiety attack about the situation I remembered a sign in my doctors office. A small wooden plaque with the words, " If dares a fire, raise flap. " If you raise the flap it says " NO Couyon,,,if dares a fire .." Guess I'm being a couyon. Just want to get her into treatment asap. Waht little bit of mind I have left, I'm losing..

I think we would all be losing it too. You know what peeves me, is that, they treat so many so the sense
of urgency is not there for them, but I bet if it was one of their own, they would be feeling just like you,
and they would be jumping through hoops to get things done. It's the old "walk a mile in my shoes" syndrome!!
I hope you hear something positive soon (((hugs))) x

Waiting is often the toughest thing to deal with in life. I never seem to know when to be assertive. All I can think of is make sure you communicate your concerns to your doctor. Send him/her an email or call. Let them answer your concerns.

Its the paper work to get her into the system plus the case worker is a rude B----. Wife had to get her doc involved more and when his nurse called them she said the case worker was rude and lied about what had been sent and what had not. Nurse said all the info was sent , then the case worker said it was illegible . When the nurse asked if she called to have it refaxed she said she didn't have time. Wife asked for another case worker today. Enough is enough. If nothing happens by tomorrow we are calling someone higher on the food chain up there. I'm starting to get mad and just like the Hulk, they would not like me when I'm mad ..

I can't even imagine how agonizing the waiting is at this juncture. I think calling the facility to ask them about it nicely maybe your best bet. Hang in there! Hopefully she'll get treatment soon, and will knock this back into remission.

Hulk Smash!! Bruce Banner might be more helpful in this case though. Going up the food chain is usually a good plan when you encounter a crappy or crabby public employee. Sometimes an advocate like a local news person or a congress person or whatever can help. This kind of "stuff" ticks me off. Good luck
