Hi all,

I have anal skin tags (at least 2) and between them hurts like crazy and will bleed on the TP.  It doesnt bleed like when I had the bad Fissure.  My GI told me use Hydrocortizone cream on it but it doesnt seem to help it...it is constantly throbbing.  My Colorectal surgeon had given me samples of recto-gel (has lidocaine in it) it didnt seem to do much.  I remember this 1 prescription cream it began with a B i think that I was origionally given for hemmies it worked well and it had cortizone in it unsure if it would help this...ooo i remembered the generic name betamethazone valerate...

thoughts?
suggestions?
I use the wet wipes after I have a BM and when i hit the areas that bleed oh wow do i see starts it stings so much

There's not much I can offer except instead of the Wet Wipes which as you say do sting, try Tucks. Or baby wipes. And don't wipe so much as pat yourself dry. Wiping irritates.

23 years or better w/this DD, eh? Gotchya beat! tongue turn My symptoms began in mid-1975, but I got lucky and was Dx'd in early 1976. Problem was I couldn't tolerate azulfidine so resection of 18" of the mid-ileum in early 1978. yeah

But then I was blessed w/a 20 year remission of symptoms!!! And also blessed that the symptoms when they occur have been mild and Pentasa and Imuran have been able to keep them in symptomatic remission or full remission. Neither med can do the trick on their own in my case, it takes the two in partnership. yeah Shows to go you, God does look after fools!

May you find relief soon. Good luck and God bless.
My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.

Hi Dragon-

I have been going thru the worst "bum pain" ever lately. My colon and rectal surgeon gave me a cream called Calmoseptine (sp?) and it is MAGIC!!! I have tried everything out there and this truely works the best. It is a bit messy- but when the pain gets so bad you can hardly walk and you are basicly paralized after a BM, messy isn't a big deal...lol. My surgeon also told me I was too clean. He told me to not use any kind of wet wipes and to just use a warm washcloth to clean the area- no harsh soaps either.
Hope this helps!!
I am a 29 yo female, Dx with UC in 97, hospital stays monthly, tons of blood transfusion, bowel rest on TPN, prednisone, asacol, sulfa, imuran, VSP
99- multiple failed remicade treatments, more hospital stays
finally in 2001 had enough and had total colectomy (j-pouch) surgery, 1st step was good, then the reversal was not such a breeze, got peritinitis which was awful!!
the rest of 2001-2006 were amazing!
now having problems again- they are thinking Crohns.- have been on Humira with no luck
