Just wondering after reading about the nasal sores, if you can share what symptom (aside from the obvious D and/or vomiting)
comes right before a flare?

For me, and this happens every time, is I get what I call the speckles. It is most pronounced on my chest and back but they are all over. Not very itchy, they look like chicken pox. Every doctor I've ever told about the speckles (except one) has looked at me like I'm on crack. lol.. but it's true.

Also, about half the time before a flare (usually the BAD flares) I get mouth and throat ulcers to the point where it hurts so bad to swallow, that totally sucks.
33 years old, dx with Crohn's in 1998. Currently on :
Clofazimine 100mg daily,
Rifampin 600mg daily, and Clarithromycin 2 tabs daily
and Cipralex 10mg/day for anxiety.
Hydroxyzine, percocet, Ativan as needed.
5g pharmaceutical grade Omega 3's, 1000IU's Vitamin D3 daily
2 Perianal fistulas, and 1 more suspected. Crohn's only at end of colon, cecum. Remi, Asacol, Salofalk, Imuran, Humira did nada. Built immunity to long-term Cipro use, which also induced panic attacks.

I start sleeping for 14+ hours, and still wake up tired.
Diagnosed with Crohn's late December 2004. Narrowly avoiding a full-blown flare using nothing but sheer awesomeness.

Nothing. Been in basically flare-up mode for the last 10 years. Rarely I get a flare-up within a flare-up, but those rarely last more than a few days and just usually involve more toilet trips.

Yeah, those bumps are definately real. I got those towards the end of my first really bad flare right before I got diagnosed. THey're not fun at all....I think they *might* be a form of cutaneous lichen planus, at least that's the closest thing that I could find to what mine was...

My sign is needing a ton of sleep (12+ hours) when I'm used to doing life on 6 hours of sleep. When coffee gives me D is usually another big sign because when I could handle coffee without problems was when I knew I was in remission...
Diagnosed 2002 at 18. Remission for about 7 years. Getting back into the swing of things at 26.

75mg Imuran, 750mg Balsalazide 3x day, Tapering Pred (almost done).

Flaring...

Attempting SCD...fingers crossed!

I get really hungry for a week or two before, like my body knows that I'm going to stop eating when the flare starts and it's trying to prepare.  Also, very tired and the arthritis gets even worse.

I've gotten the mouth sores before, esp. before my last BIG flare back in 04. i had a whole swarm of them. I also get increased rectal bleeding & itching.
And i have those weird little bumps all over me right now. Well, I'm sort of flaring, but its almost all Arthritis plus a couple of canker sores. No intestinal symptoms like pain, but that may be because I'm back on tramadol again ( for arthritis pain). I think I've been on the edge of a flare for a few weeks now. next time I go to a doctor I'll have to ask for prednisone. Ugghh!

Are the bumps kinda like little zits that aren't filled with pus? 'cos I get those too, but they don't go away entirely when I'm feeling well. They're scattered around, but mostly on my chest/shoulders. I also get actual zits, but that might be because when I feel really really bad, I don't feel like getting up and walking 10' to the shower.

I start to feel good, start eating, feeling good to the point of playing basketball. then boom. small nagging stomache pains,,,,come and go get progressively worse then nausa, loss of appetite. the big "D" everyday.... feel bad for 7 to 10 days. then cycle into feeling good for 7 to 10 days... and so it goes on and on and on.
today played basketball. but stomache had some sharp pains prior to playing. decided i better get in a workout before the next cycle. Had been on good run for about 8 days.

Yeah, a bit like pimples, smaller than Erythasoma Nodosum bumps though. Which I've had a few lately with fever. Despite not being in an "Official Flare" at the moment, I think there is active CD somewhere.
