So I woke up today and felt OK in the morning. I have been having a little bit of constipated (little pellet) stools lately but I don't really strain. Just a little push.
Any way I all of a sudden started feeling a pain in my anal area. I busted out a mirror and saw and felt this little hard grape-like ball right on my anal opening. It hurts alot, especially when I sit. I can push it around a little but its just there. I don't have fever or chills, but am a little tired cause I havent been sleeping much.
I'm scared it my be an abscess. Don't know what to do.

I never feel sick or get a temp when I have an abscess. It just hurts, a lot. Try taking warmish hot sitz baths, or put moist heat on it. Try sitting on a heating pad with a barely damp towel on it. Usually if it's an abscess, moist heat will bring it to a head faster.
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.

Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, Glucosamine, D3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

You don't say which meds you are on, but prednisone can mask a fever. Hot baths and heating pad are definately a must do for either one. I've had many abscesses and if it was one, you would know it. See your doctor and start treatment the sooner the better.

I could be wrong, but it sounds more like a hemmoroid to me too. But the warm sitz baths will help that too. I like Tucks pads alot, they ease hemi pain. Good luck!

I had abscesses without fever, too. I would suggest the sitz bath...it cannot hurt anything and may just feel good too!

It could be a perianal crohn's skin tag (I have many all around my anus that were mistaken for hemmies) here's a great link that shows hemmies in the first set of pics, and the pic below that shows perianal crohn's skin tags (which are nothing like hemmies at all)...if yours looks more like the perianal crohn's skin tags then have your doc check it out.

bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.

Hey guys. Thanks for the responses. I'm still in serious pain but I went to the doctor and he says its a thrombosed hemmie. No garlic (which I eat every day) and no lifting weights for 3 weeks. Sitz bath every day and some hydrocortisone cream. He says it should go away on its own.
