I started Remicade 4 weeks ago. Yesterday I started sneezing and am alternating between all stopped up and runny nose. My throat was sore this morning from the drainage but is not sore anymore. I do not feel acky or tired just a bit of a headache from the congestion. My snot (sorry can't think of a better word) is clear and I do not have a fever. I sometimes have issues with seasonal allergies but not bad enough to take something everyday. I can't tell if it is a cold or allergies....I have taken Zyrtec and it seems to be working on the runny nose but I am still congested. Can my doc do a simple swab to see if it's allergies or a cold? Should I go in to see him? I am busy with work and school and don't want to go if it will be a waste of time. Thanks!

I'm one of those with seasonal allergies so I usually wait until I'm absolutely sure it's not allergies to go to the dr...but my primary care dr. isn't much help anyway, so I avoid him if possible.  I don't know of any test they can do to tell if it's a cold vs allergies, but there may be one that they've just never done on me.  Your symptoms don't sound like something I would go to the dr. for at this point, but you know your body better than anyone else and if this isn't your normal allergy symptoms, it wouldn't hurt to see or call the dr.
