Snowmaiden's first post was lost in the stickies at the top of the forum, so here it is again. Welcome, Snowmaiden!

Hello everyone

I have suffered from Crohn’s disease since the age of 16 and it has been a tough journey with many ups and downs along the way. Stopped taking any medication over ten years ago because I believe the long term side effects on your health out weigh any short term relief of symptoms. Recently had a flare up but I am now starting to recover. Joined this forum to see how other are coping with the disease and if they have a specific routine which helps them through the day.

Welcome Jen! I was also diagnosed when I was 16.  I suggest getting on a medication that works for you, and stay on it!! Although there is always a chance of disease returning, sometimes it's less sereve if you are on meds.  The side effects can be scary,  but sometimes the alternative is even worse.

I try to eat as healthy as possible with the foods my body tolerates, and get in light exersice everyday...even if I'm not really feeling up to it  (example. I'll walk around the house 20 times throughout the day if I'm feeling ill).

Please use this form for support, and even to vent.
