Does anyone else have issues with sweating? Mine is always on my face and it is to the point where it is embarrassing. I don't even have to be that hot when it happens. Sometimes when I am getting ready in the morning and putting on my makeup or doing my hair I break out in a sweat. This never used to happen and I don't know what I can do to make it better? Any suggestions?

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but for a week after my Humira shot, I feel like I am getting hot flashes. I'm 43, so it's not 'the change', but I will just be standing there and break out in a sweat. I was wondering if the Humira had anything to do with it...
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.

Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, Glucosamine, D3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

Yes!! I sweat ....drives me crazy! It is embarassing! I remember when I was working it would just roll down my face and ...I wasn't doing anything strenuous! lol
All I can say is when I asked my Dr. about it he said,  "When do you notice it most"? I said, "Mostly after I eat."  But I've also linked it to..."inner pain" Hard to explain, but when I start really sweating I know that stomach cramping isn't far behind. Usually after I eat.  Pain for me on  the outs is different than inside (like the intestines being swelled) idk? This is a theory of mine. That I can't do much about .... just deal with it:(
What I can do and it has helped... is cut back on drinking hot drinks. This can sometimes start the sweating. Also, I notice sweating when my sugar dips to fast. I have type 2 Diabetes also.
Good Luck ,
and if all else fails...treat yourself to some great smelling powder. Victoria secret makes some. At least this will help absorb it....:)

I don't mean to be rude at all Fonger, but what's your age?  I see that you are a mother of 4.   Is it possible you could be having hormone/estrogen issues on top of everything else?

On the flip side, as soon as I think about doing work I start to sweat.  And I also start to sweat as an episode gets ready to hit me.

I started a thread on this very subject not so long ago, and was actually surprised at just how many of us do
have the *sweats*. I think it's the nature of the beast!!
I know this probably doesn't make you feel any better, but we all seem to get it. And the 100 degree temps right
now really isn't helping. I get full body sweats even in an air conditioned room, what's up with that:=)

I sweat too and I asked my GYN about it after reading several places that crohns can throw you into early menopause. I am indeed in the beginning phases of it! I am so sorry to hear yours in in your face area. I tend to sweat mostly around my mid section up to my breasts. My face only gets clamy, which is irritating because people think I am going to pass out.

mdf34,

I am 36.  I don't drink hot drinks - not a coffee or hot tea fan.  I guess I will just chalk it up to another miserable thing to deal with from this horrible disease.  To put a little light on the subject, I was texting a good friend the other day and she asked how I was doing.  I told her I had been doing a lot of sweating and popping.  She replied, you mean pooping?  So now we laugh and she asks me if I have been sweating and popping.  Remember if you don't laugh you'll cry.

Me too! Especially having a flare and being on steroids. I get the facial sweats in the morning and the body sweats at night. Ya! Fun stuff~! (sarcasm) I sit in front of a fan until the sweat dries up and use a light moisturizer. Then I use Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral Wear make up. It's virtually sweat proof and won't make you break out (worse).

Does anyone have cold intolerance? When I'm cold, my body just aches.

For sure with the sweating. I have noticed that I will get hot and start sweating right before I start to get sick with cramps and diarrhea. It's a tip off for sure. Then if I am in pain with a lot of cramps, I sweat even more.
