  Hello,
My name is Dana. I'm not new to the forum but I don't go on religiously. So HELLO again to all I met before and Hi to all the new comers.

Something weird has been happening. I always get really sick before my period, almost identical to a flare up. Fever  nausea always going to the bathroom.
I had that, then my mom got sick ( she has chill and  fever no stomach issues).
Now my sister is sick ( she has an ear infection fever and stomach problems.)
For the last week i've been getting those on and off fevers, it was 103 one day. The nausea was there too, with the bathroom issues ( but its at normal status for me (which is 5 times a day minimum) Its not excessive like 10 times a day.
However, the last two days I felt fine i just throw up after I eating in the morning. It feels more like a gag reflect then a stomach thing( when it comes up i feel it from the throat, not like the pulling pain when you pour your guts out puking.. like it would when you get a stomach virus.)

in addition to this weirdness Ive been getting weird cramps the last two months. Its a sharp pain that is low at my pelvic bone or high  right above my belly button. And, this pain is accompanied by a rush of saliva to my mouth. Then i know i gotta run to the bathroom or its gonna get ugly!!! Ive been able to hold it once in a blue. My doc says its a nerve.. I say its annoying.. But has anyone ever felt that way?!?!

so ultimate question out of all this is  this a flare up or flu/ stomach bug issue?
how should i treat this? i take my meds religiously and i've been surviving on rice and carby things... its the only thing i can hold in for more then a hour.

thanks for listening to me ... its soooo appreciated =)

Honey, I can relate. It's possible that you've got a mild stomach virus on top of the Crohns flare. The pain I get on my period is awful. I know when my period's coming by the increase and intensity of the BMs. And of course, the hormonal change from the period also affects my stomach so I can't stand t eat and the smell of food causes my salive to go rampant so I know I'm gonna hurl.

Maybe you should call your doctor and/or set up an appointment. Orrrrrr, visit an Urgant Care. TAke care of yourself and keep hydrated. You know, a siip every half hour.

Well I am far from an expert BUT if the symptomes have been going on for a little while you should go see a Dr. For me throwing is a huge sign of flair along with the saliva, fever etc.

Don't wait, better to catch it early if it is a flair up and make you feel better if it is not....

Good Luck

Whether it is a stomach bug or a flare up, you should see your doctor.

As a side note, I use to have bad cramping and symptoms around my periods so my gynecologist suggested that I just take the active pills and skip the "period pills" for my birth control. In doing that, I just skip my periods all together along with those nasty Crohn's problems. She told me that you shouldn't do this if your birth control is a cylin (ex. tricyclin, tricyclin lo), and you should probably talk to your gyno before doing this. Skipping my periods really worked for me, and my doctor said that there is no reason I need to have a period if I'm not trying to get pregnant anyway.
